<br />Page 1 of 3 <br />Parks Commission Minutes <br />May 15, 2019 <br /> <br />Minutes <br />Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission <br /> <br />Meeting of May 15, 2019 <br />Hugo City Hall, 7:00 pm <br /> <br />Present: Dave Strub, Cathy Moore – Arcand, Mat Rauschendorfer, Nicole Schmid, Ranell Tennyson <br /> <br />Absent: Roger Clark, Shawn Haag <br /> <br />Staff Present: Scott Anderson, Public Works Director <br />Shayla Denaway, Parks Planner <br /> Debi Close, Secretary <br /> <br />Strub called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. <br /> <br />1. Approval of Minutes from the April 17, 2019 Meeting <br /> <br />Moore‐Arcand made a motion, Haag seconded to approve the minutes of the March 20, 2019 Parks <br />Commission meeting. <br /> <br />All aye. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />2. Kathy Marier Memorial <br /> <br />Pete Pederson, representing the Hugo Lions Club, proposed a memorial be constructed and dedicated to <br />honor Kathy Marier. Marier served as the first Chair of the Parks Commission and was a driving force for <br />construction of the first playground in Hugo, which was built in Lions Park in 1998. A large climbing boulder <br />with a bronze plaque will be dedicated during Hugo Good Neighbor Days. The Hugo Lions Club is offering to <br />cover the costs of the memorial and would like assistance from the City in locating it. <br /> <br />Strub made a motion, Schmid seconded to approve a memorial to Kathy Marier to be installed in Lions Park. <br /> <br />All aye. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
