HUG16015-Parks, Trails, and Open Space DRAFT Chapter 8
08/16/17

Other Providers of Parkland
In addition to the City parks and open space, other government, private clubs, and non-profits play a critical role in providing open space, facilities, and programs to Hugo residents and surrounding communities.
Regional Parks and Open Space
Regional Parks and Trails are typically large tracts of land (over 200 acres) managed and funded by Washington County or the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. They can attract visitors from outside the area and often have high quality
natural resource communities.
Regional Athletic Facilities
Regional Athletic Facilities supplement Hugo’s parks system and can provide space for tournaments, sporting practice and larger community events. Map xx identifies the location of key regional athletic facilities and Table xx summarizes the type of
athletic facility provided.
[Insert photos of Regional Parks, Open Space and Athletic Facilities]
