Request for <br />site plan approval for a climate controlled self -storage building and a front yard <br />setback variance for the property located at 5560 152nd Street North. <br />DATE: September 9, 2019, for the Planning Commission Meeting of September 12, 2019 <br />ZONING: General Industrial (I-3) <br />LAND USE: Industrial (I) <br />120 -DAY REVIEW DEADLINE: October 9, 2019 <br />1. UPDATE FROM AUGUST 22, 2019, PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING: <br />Staff provided background on the request and recommended that the item be tabled to allow the <br />applicant to work with staff on the architecture and building material. The Planning Commission <br />recommended that the project be completed in one phase and that the applicant work with staff <br />on revisions to ensure the proposed building is cohesive with the existing buildings on the <br />property. The Planning Commission tabled the request until September 12, 2019. <br />The applicant has been working with staff over the last couple weeks on the items outlined in the <br />staff report and as recommended by the Planning Commission. The applicant has revised the <br />plan to include the following: <br />• The project will be completed in one phase. <br />• The tip -up concrete panel colors have been revised to match the rock -faced block colors <br />on the existing buildings. <br />• The architectural metal color has been revised to match the garage doors on the existing <br />buildings. Architectural metal will also be added to the existing buildings to be more <br />cohesive with the proposed building. <br />
