<br />BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON MONDAY, JULY 1, 2019 <br /> <br />D.1 Minutes for the June 17, 2019, City Council Meeting <br />D.2 Minutes for the June 25, 2019 10th Anniversary of the Yellow Ribbon Network <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the above minutes as presented. <br /> <br />F.1 Recognition of Retiring Oneka Elementary Principal Terry Dahlem <br /> <br />Council will recognize Principal Dahlem for her contributions to the Community. <br /> <br />F.2 Presentation of 2018 Audit Report – Jason Miller, Smith Schafer & Associates <br /> <br />Jason Miller from the independent accounting firm of Smith Schafer & Associates will present <br />the Hugo City Council with a recap of the audit of City finances for the 2018 fiscal year. The <br />Council will listen to the presentation from Jason Miller after which questions will be taken. The <br />Audit report can be found on the City’s website at https://www.ci.hugo.mn.us/finance. City staff <br />recommends Council formally accept the 2018 City Audit as recommended by Finance Director <br />Ron Otkin. <br /> <br />G.1 Approval of Claims <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br /> <br />G.2 Approve Annual Performance Review for Public Works Worker Jeff Maas <br /> <br />Jeff Maas was hired by the City of Hugo on July 24, 2006, as a Public Works Worker. Public <br />Works Director Scott Anderson recommends Council approve the annual performance review for <br />Public Works Worker Jeff Maas. <br /> <br />G.3 Approve Resignation of Jennifer Wilson from the EDA <br /> <br />At its October 15, 2018, meeting, Council approved the appointment of Jennifer Wilson as an <br />alternate member of the Economic Development Authority. Jennifer has submitted her <br />resignation due to moving outside the City of Hugo. Staff recommends Council approve the <br />resignation of Jennifer Wilson from the EDA. <br /> <br />G.4 Approve Special Event Permit for Wilson Tool Picnic on August 10, 2019 <br /> <br />Wilson Tool has applied for a Special Event Permit to hold their annual company picnic on <br />Saturday, August 10, 2019, at the Hanifl Shelter and Fields. This event requires a Special Event <br />Permit approved by Council because there will be amplified sound, alcohol will be served, and <br />approximately 1,000 people are expected to attend. Wilson Tool held their annual picnic for <br />several years at Lions Park and the past three years at Hanifl with no impact to the health, safety, <br />and welfare of the community. Staff recommends Council approve the Special Event Permit for <br />the Wilson Tool Company Picnic on Saturday, August 10, 2019. <br /> <br />G.5 Approve Temporary Liquor License for Hugo Lions for the Wilson Tool Picnic <br /> <br />The Hugo Lions Club has submitted a temporary liquor license application to serve beer and <br />wine coolers at the Wilson Tool picnic on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
