BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON JUNE 17, 2019 <br /> <br />D.1 Approval of Minutes for the June 3, 2019, Council Meeting <br />D.2 Approval of Minutes for the June 8, 2019, Backyard Rib Fest <br />D.3 Approval of Minutes for the June 9, 2019, Kathy Marier Memorial <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the minutes as presented. <br /> <br />G.1 Approval of Claims <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br /> <br />G.2 Approve Special Event Permit for Tough Mudder at Wild Wings July 13-14, 2019 <br /> <br />Tough Mudder has submitted an application for a Special Event Permit to hold a two- day <br />endurance sport event at Wild Wings Game Farm on July 13-14. This will be the fourth year the <br />event has been held at Wild Wings. This requires a Special Event Permit approved by Council <br />because there will be approximately 7,720 run participants and 1,480 spectators, impacts to <br />public streets, use of an amplified sound system, and alcohol served. Added this year is the <br />Midwest Toughest Mudder, which is a five mile overnight race. This race will be held on <br />Saturday night from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Staff has reviewed the application with Wild Wings, the <br />Hugo Fire Department, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and feels the event has <br />been well planned. Staff recommends the Council approve the Special Event Permit for The <br />Tough Mudder event to be held on July 13-14, 2019, with the conditions attached to the permit. <br /> <br />G.3 Approve Temporary Liquor License for the Lions for the Tough Mudder July 13-14, 2019 <br /> <br />The Hugo Lions Club has applied for a Temporary Liquor License to serve beer at the Tough <br />Mudder event on July 13-14. Race participants will receive one free beer with the registration if <br />they are 21+ years of age. Identification will be checked and wristbands will be used. Two <br />deputies will be located in the base area where alcohol is served. Staff recommends Council <br />approve the Temporary Liquor License for the Tough Mudder event on July 13-14, 2019. <br /> <br />G.4 Approve Pay Voucher No. 3 for the Water Tower No. 4 Improvement Project <br /> <br />CB & I has submitted pay Request No. 3 for the Water Tower No. 4 Improvement Project. Staff <br />has reviewed the request and finds it satisfactory for work certified through June 1, 2019. Staff <br />recommends approval of Payment Voucher No. 3 to CB&I in the amount of $129,630.12. <br /> <br />I.2 Easement Vacation for Adelaide Landing Outlot B Drainage and Utility Easements <br /> <br />OP5 Adelaide LLC, has applied for vacation of the existing drainage and utility easements lying <br />over, under, and across Outlot B, Adelaide Landing. The proper drainage and utility easements <br />will be dedicated over the lot after the easement vacation is approved. Staff recommends <br />Council hold the public hearing and approve the Easement vacation for Adelaide Landing, Outlot <br />B. <br /> <br /> <br />
