Page 3 <br />Avenue Park and Clearwater Creek Preserve Park. The chapter also includes guiding principles <br />that state the City should continue to upgrade and maintain the existing parks and trails we have <br />to create a high quality user experiences so that people return to the parks and value the parks <br />system. <br />Public Works Building <br />Over the last several months the City Council has been discussing and studied the possible <br />expansion of the Public Works facility. The current facility is unable to accommodate long term <br />needs beyond 15 years at its current location. A study was done that evaluated construction of a <br />brand new facility which would utilize 10-15 acres of the 125 acre Irish Avenue Park. A <br />neighborhood meeting was held on March 4, 2020, for discussions with the adjacent property <br />owners. The City Council has authorized the completion of construction plans for the new <br />facility. The planning review for this new facility be in the next month and construction could <br />start as early as 2020. <br />The new Public Works facility is consistent with the Public Facilities chapter of the <br />Comprehensive Plan. The chapter discusses facility needs to serve an expanding population. <br />Among other things, it states that with the growth of the City expansions to the Public Works <br />facility may be required. <br />Street Reconstruction Proiects <br />Over the past several years the City has held neighborhood meetings in areas of the City that <br />have the potential for street reconstruction projects. Each year there are projects selected by <br />feasibility and neighborhood interest. The City has five proposed street construction projects. The <br />benefited property owners will be assessed for the reconstruction project. <br />The proposed street reconstruction projects are consistent with the Transportation chapter of the <br />Comprehensive Plan. The plan outlines policies for roadway maintenance and operations that <br />discuss upgrading existing roadways. The plan encourages maintenance of existing roadways by <br />repairing weather -related and other road damage when warranted. Maintenance of existing <br />infrastructure is also encouraged within the Transportation chapter. <br />Water Tower #4 <br />The project is located east of Highway 61, off of 1251h Street. This project includes the <br />construction of a water tower. The well has already been drilled as part of a 2010 project. The <br />construction of the water tower has started and we be completed this year. <br />The construction Water Tower #4 is consistent with the Comprehensive Water Supply and <br />Distribution Chapter of the Comprehensive Plan. The plan outlines future water system <br />improvements that include the construction of additional water tower. The chapter states that the <br />construction of the Water Tower #4 will be needed in the years between 2018-2020. <br />3 <br />
