Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for June 1, 2020 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Receive Bids and Awarding Contract for Goodview Avenue Street Project <br /> <br />Bids were received for the Goodview Avenue Street Improvement Project on Thursday, May 21, <br />2020. City Engineer stated there was an excellent bidding environment, and he was pleased with <br />the results. Six bids were received and checked for mathematical accuracy. The low bid was <br />submitted by T.A. Schifsky and Sons, Inc., North St. Paul, Minnesota, in the amount of <br />$773,545.01 The Engineer’s Estimate was $1,079,250.00. Erichson said if the bid was accepted, <br />the project could be expected to begin in mid to late July. <br /> <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve RESOLUTION 2020 – 26 RECEIVING BIDS <br />AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE GOODVIEW AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROJECT. <br /> <br />Roll call vote – all ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Update on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br /> <br />Council Member Phil Klein reported to Council on the Yellow Ribbon Network activities held <br />recently. The YRN had received requests for help with food donations and monetary help. They <br />were continuing with their packaging events. There will be no Hamburger Night until the <br />pandemic is over. Klein stated that prayers were with the National Guard, who were dealing with <br />the rioting over the killing of George Floyd. <br /> <br />Schedule Workshop to Review the Lions Park Feasibility Study <br /> <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear recommended Council schedule a workshop to review the Lions <br />Park Feasibility Study. He suggested 6 p.m. on June 15, 2020, just prior to the regularly <br />scheduled Council meeting. <br /> <br />Petryk made motion, Miron seconded, to schedule a workshop on the Lions Park Feasibility <br />Study to be held on June 15, 2020, at 6 p.m. The workshop will be held remotely. <br /> <br /> Roll call vote – all ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Schedule Neighborhood Meeting on Proposed Public Works Building <br /> <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear added this to the agenda to schedule a meeting with residents on <br />Irish Avenue and the neighborhood near the location of the proposed new Public Works facility. <br />The meeting would be held remotely, and staff would be working on ways to get neighborhood <br />comments. Notices would be mailed and information would be posted on the City’s website. <br /> <br />Klein made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule the neighborhood meeting for Thursday, June <br />18, 2020, at 7 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll call vote – all ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />
