INTRODUCTION: <br /> <br />Three proposals from consultants are being recommended for approval for the design <br />development of Lions Park. <br /> <br />2. BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />The City Council adopted a Master Plan and Feasibility Study for Lions Park at their July 20, <br />2020 meeting. The Parks C ommission discussed next steps at their August 19, 2020 meeting. <br />Proposals were received from consultants for design development of Lions Park to take place <br />this fall. The consultants are proposing to engage the public, this fall, in designing the <br />playground, pavilion, and remaining park site through to 50% plans with probable costs. The <br />anticipated timeline includes presentation of the final designs in January/February 2021. The <br />proposals do not include preparation of construction documents, but that could be authorized by <br />the Council following approval of the developed designs for Lions Park. <br /> <br />Playground and Pavilion Site Design: <br /> <br />At the Parks Commission meeting of August 19, 2020 a proposal dated August 14, 2020 from <br />WSB was reviewed and recommended for approval. WSB ’s proposal included engagement with <br />two separate stakeholder groups to desi gn the playground and pavilion sites. The proposal <br />includes three meetings with each of the stakeholder groups, staff meetings, conceptual designs, <br />50% plans, multiple revisions, and a topographical survey at a cost of $57,000. <br /> <br />Park Site Design: <br /> <br />At the Parks Commission meeting of September 16 , 2020 they reviewed a draft contract from <br />WSB for the remaining park site and recommended approval. WSB ’s proposal i ncludes several <br />meetings and plan revisions to develop the design of the parking lots, trails/sidewalks, skate park
