Please inform the developer that construction dewatering in excess of 10,000 gallons per day of surface water or
groundwater, or one million gallons per year, for the construction of the homes, stormwater features, or utilities
at the proposed development will require a DNR Water Appropriation Permit.
Thank you for applying the state shoreland PUD standards to this development and for working to preserve and
enhance surface water quality. We encourage the City to amend its shoreland ordinance to adopt the shoreland
PUD provisions. When amended, DNR will no longer need to approve each PUD prior to Council approval.
Sincerely,

Dan Scollan
DNR East Metro Area Hydrologist

Attachments:

DNR’s Email dated January 31, 2017

CC: Jack Gleason, DNR South District Hydrologist Supervisor
Dan Petrik, DNR Land Use Program
