Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for March 1, 2021 <br />Page 11 of 11 <br />Update on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br />Council Member Chuck Haas reported to Council on the Yellow Ribbon Network activities held <br />recently. The YRN received a letter from the Adjutant General thanking the YRN for their <br />support. He had photos of soldiers who received coffee in their care packages and soldiers during <br />remote burger night in Guantanamo Bay. He also showed a photo of a soldier's family whose <br />wife lost her battle with cancer on January 30. The YRN had been supporting them and started a <br />Secret Easter Bunny program, and the Family Readiness Group had set up a GoFundMe page. <br />The YRN received requests to assist a soldier in paying bills, purchase a microwave for a family, <br />and connected a family to a local car dealer for a needed mini -van. They YRN help a family who <br />needed a new furnace, and they recently had held a deployment luncheon. <br />May Township Board of Supervisors Chair Bill Voedisch <br />Haas added this to the agenda to recognize May Township Board of Supervisors Chair Bill <br />Voedisch on his retirement from the Board after 24 years. Haas commented the City of Hugo <br />has worked cooperatively with them over the years on border road, school district and watershed <br />district matters. <br />Haas made motion, Weidt seconded, to put together letter thanking him for 24 years of service to <br />Washington County and May Township. <br />Roll call vote — all ayes. Motion carried. <br />Schedule Board of Appeal and Equalization for Thursday, April 8, 2021 <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council that Washington County wanted the City to <br />hold its Local Board of Appeals and Equalization meeting on Thursday, April 8, 2021, in the <br />Oneka Room from 5:30 — 6:30 p.m. at Hugo City Hall. <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to schedule the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization <br />meeting on Thursday, April 8, 2021, in the Oneka Room <br />Roll call vote — all ayes.
