TOUGH MUDDER Twin Cities <br />2021 Event Operations Plan <br />Approx. .5 Acres for Festival Area <br />Primary Contact Jeff Hughes <br />Phone Number 612-590-2641 <br />Relevant Event Permits Special Events Application, Alcohol Beverage License <br />Phases of Operation <br />The planning process for the Tough Mudder Event Operations team begins approximately five months <br />prior to the event weekend. The following table outlines the phases in which the team plans and <br />executes the event. <br />Phase Description Date <br />Site Visit and Course <br />Design <br />Initial visit by Event Operations Team to <br />meet stakeholders and plan all aspects of <br />the event, including parking, traffic, <br />Festival Area, course, and construction. <br />March 2021 <br />Load In <br />Period in which the venue will receive <br />deliveries, set up temporary infrastructure, <br />mark the course route, load in <br />vendors/sponsors, construct Festival Area <br />and course obstacles. <br />June 28, 2021 <br />Event Operations Event weekend when all participants, <br />spectators, and workforce are on-site. <br />July 10, 2021 7am-7pm <br />July 11, 2021 8am-5pm <br />Load Out <br />Monday and Tuesday following the event, <br />the Event Operations Team will break down <br />temporary infrastructure and oversee <br />removal of rental equipment and trash. <br />July 12-15 ,2021 <br />Site Restoration Period in which obstacles are removed and <br />site restoration work is carried out. <br />Timeline TBD with venue <br />and Construction Manager <br />Event Stakeholders <br />Participants All patrons running the Tough Mudder course. All participants must be 18 <br />or older, or 13 - 17 with a chaperone to take part in the event. <br />Spectators All patrons viewing the Tough Mudder course. Spectator routes are <br />marked with wayfinding signs to watch obstacles and take photographs <br />of those participating in the event. <br />Workforce All volunteers, independent contractors, temporary labor, and Tough <br />Mudder staff on-site during event week and weekend to support the <br />operation of the event. <br />Venue Venue Contact will act as Tough Mudder’s main point of contact for all <br />venue related questions. <br />Vendors Contractors and suppliers that provide services/equipment for the event. <br />Partner Activations Official Tough Mudder Partners on both the local and national level will <br />be present in the Festival Area. <br />Police Tough Mudder has informed the local police of the Parking and Traffic <br />Management Plan and will refine it to ensure compliance by all parties. <br />Emergency Service <br />Providers <br />Tough Mudder’s Safety Operations Director, Brendan Quinn will contact <br />local EMS and Fire regarding the weekend’s medical operation to ensure <br />they are kept in the loop or our operation. <br />5/21
