RE: Spencer Goodman and Megan Kelly
Property Address: 5490 1451h st. N, Hugo Mn, 55038
I am writing this letter to appeal the assessment on my property of $3484.00, for the current road work
construction happening on Finley street. I recently purchased this home and closed on June 22"d, 2021.
Upon working through the purchasing process, there had been no prior discussion about the road
construction project, and after asking around, I learned that this has been in the works for quite some
time. After some minor updates my fiance and I moved in August 15Y, 2021 and the road work
commenced on August 25th with absolutely no prior knowledge. We did however receive a newsletter
stating that the road tear up would begin on August 251h. Furthermore, during the process of them
removing the roads, I received a knock at my door explaining to me that they needed to move the fire
hydrant on the boulevard 6-8 feet into my yard. Then they left a large portion of my front yard tore up
that I imagine will be my responsibility to fix. I will also need to maintain the area around the fire
hydrant for the remainder of my ownership, now that it has been moved into my property. The
previous Homeowner owned the property for approximately four months, and before that the
homeowner Phil Kamann, lived there for twenty plus years. If I would have known that there would be
almost immediate road construction, I would have attempted to purchase the home at a lesser cost or
tried to get some of the funds escrowed into an account to pay for such assessment, therefore I do not
believe it is my responsibility to incur these costs.
