BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br />D.1 Approve Minutes for the November 1, 2021 City Council Meeting <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the minutes for the City Council meeting on November 1, <br />2021, as presented. <br /> <br />F.1 MN State Representative Donald Raleigh <br /> <br />MN State Representative Donald Raleigh will be in attendance to introduce himself to the Council <br />and provide an update on happenings at the State Legislature. <br /> <br />F.2 Snowmobile Trail Applications for Hugo Knight Riders Snowmobile Club and Rice Creek <br />Trail Association – Club President John Udstuen <br /> <br />The Hugo Knight Riders Snowmobile Club and the Rice Creek Trail Association have submitted <br />their Snowmobile Trail Applications for the 2021-2022 snow season. Club President John <br />Udstuen will provide an update on the clubs and request approval of the Snowmobile Trail <br />Applications for the 2021-2022 snowmobile season. Staff is continuing to work with the club on <br />the route through Hugo and will provide a map for approval at the meeting. <br /> <br />G.1 Approve Claims Roster <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br /> <br />G.2 Approve Annual Performance Review for Community Development Assistant Emily <br />Weber <br /> <br />Emily Weber was hired as a Community Development Assistant starting November 26, 2018. <br />Community Development Director Rachel Juba recommends Council approve the annual <br />performance review of Community Development Assistant Emily Weber. <br /> <br />G.3 Approve Accounting Clerk Job Description <br /> <br />At the October 18, 2021, City Council Meeting, Council approved the advertisement for hiring a <br />new Accounting Clerk to fill a vacant position in the Finance Department. The Accounting <br />Clerk job description was created in 2008 and staff has updated the job description to reflect the <br />current needs of the Finance Department. Staff recommends Council approve the updated <br />Accounting Clerk Job Description. <br /> <br />G.4 Approve Appointment of Amber Lozier as New Accounting Clerk <br /> <br />At the October 18, 2021, City Council Meeting, Council approved the advertisement for hiring a <br />new Accounting Clerk to fill a vacant position in the Finance Department. Amber Lozier has <br />worked for the City of Hugo as the Finance/Public Works Administrative Assistant since <br />October 2018. Over the past three years, she has helped streamline the administrative functions <br />of the Public Works Department and provided clerical and accounting support to the Finance <br />Department. With Amber’s experience, she is qualified and well-suited for the Accounting <br />Clerk position. Staff recommends Council approve the appointment of Amber Lozier as the new
