Design development further refines the master plan by creating more defined <br />design based on actual site conditions, programming and spatial configurations. <br />This is where we take it from a 1,000 foot high level down to a pedestrian level. <br />Eventually we'll be getting into the 1/4 inch level. <br />Programming Discussion / Brainstorming <br />a. General appearance / appeal: <br />• If you had out of town guests visiting, tell me what one place or event in Hugo <br />you would want to take them to and why <br />1. Hanifl: The playground, it is scenic and like the design of the <br />shelter <br />2. Fran Miron: working dairy farm <br />3. Irish Park & trails: Cross Country Skiing, hiking & snow shoeing <br />4. Arcand Park: Trails & play features, recently completed <br />5. The lake in the summer months or the eastern part of Hugo <br />where it is more of a country setting & Hanifl Park <br />6. All 36 sq mi <br />• What images and types of activities do you envision when I say Community or <br />Civic Campus <br />1. Plazas, areas for community gatherings, walking paths, lots of <br />landscaping <br />2. Gathering areas with a performance stage -Music in the park & a <br />variety of unique features <br />3. Multi -sport/ flex use area, obstacle course for adults on the <br />perimeter path or designated to a specific area (Eagan Central <br />Park example) <br />4. Multiple different uses for families that have children of different <br />ages or no children at all <br />b. Views <br />Lighting <br />Primary and secondary vehicular routes <br />1. Finale will eventually connect to Frenchman Rd & become a <br />busier road <br />2. Parallel parking along Finale & Fitzgerald should be adequate <br />Focal points <br />1. Remove east ballfield so the NE corner entry is a better view into <br />the open greenspace <br />Parking lots <br />1. yes <br />Trails <br />1. No specific requests from the community, but this would be the <br />park to add lighting to trails <br />Night focal lighting <br />1.
