BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS AND ADJUSTMENTS UPDATE: <br /> <br />At its January 27, 2022, meeting the Board held a public hearing and considered the request. Staff <br />recommended approval of the two variance requests. There was no one that spoke during the public <br />hearing, except the applicant. The Board agreed the requests met the criteria to approve the <br />variances and unanimously recommended approval of the variances. <br /> <br />2. DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: <br /> <br />The appliciant is requesting to construct a new home on a vacant lot that is approximately .21 acres <br />in size. It is located on the east side of Sunset Lake along Ingersoll Avenue North. Hugo City <br />Code, Section 90-137, classifies Sunset Lake as a Recreational Development lake and requires a <br />100 foot setback for structures. The applicant has shown a building footprint on the survey. <br /> <br />The applicants are requesting the two following variances: <br /> <br />1. A building setback to be 21.2 feet from the Ordinary High Water (OHW) mark of Sunset <br />Lake, where 100 feet is required by ordinance. <br />2. A building front yard setback to be 19.3 feet from the front property line, where 40 feet is <br />required by ordinance.
