There was a <br />consensus of the Council that the committee should reach out to the community to see if there <br />was an ambitious group to save the schoolhouse. Weidt proposed a six-month deadline to get <br />this done. <br /> <br />Discuss and Adopt the Street CIP <br /> <br />Each year the City reviews and assesses priorities for upcoming capital improvement projects <br />throughout the City. City Engineer Mark Erichson reviewed with Council recent road rating <br />data completed in 2021 and presented an updated 5-year Capital Improvements Plan for their <br />consideration. <br /> <br />He explained the Fable Hill Bridge and Forest Bridge were not included in the CIP. Staff was <br />evaluating options and other funding sources. Erichson highlighted costs and projects for next <br />year which included 140th Street extension and reconstruction of Oneka Parkway. Erichson <br />talked about moving the installation of the traffic signal planned for the year 2024 to 2022 to <br />coordinate with the City’s project. The costs totaled just over $12 million for projects through <br />the year 2026. The Finance Department had indicated that projects can cash flow with the <br />City’s current funding levels. <br /> <br />Petryk made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Plan. <br /> <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Authorize Preparation of Plans and Specs for 140th Street Improvement Project <br /> <br />At its January 3, 2022, meeting, the City Council approved the site plan, conditional use permit, <br />and development and assessment agreement for the seventh building in the Schwieters campus <br />development. City Engineer Mark Erichson explained the approval included the extension of <br />140th Street being added to the City Streets Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Funding for the <br />project would be provided through assessing 50% of the total surface and storm sewer <br />improvements to the benefiting property with the City funding the remaining 50%. One <br />hundred percent of the watermain improvements would be assessed to the benefiting property <br />with the City covering the cost of upsizing the pipe to 12” for future development <br /> <br />Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to approve RESOLUTION 2022-8 ORDERING THE <br />PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE 140TH STREET EXTENSION. <br /> <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Hugo Area Business Association Breakfast Tuesday, February 8, 2022 <br /> <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council the Hugo Business Association Breakfast <br />would be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 7:30 a.m. at the Blue Heron. Staff had posted <br />this as a meeting for the Council to attend. <br /> <br />
