BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON APRIL 18, 2022 <br /> <br />D.1 April 4, 2022, City Council Meeting <br />D.2 April 7, 2022, Local Board of Appeal and Equalization <br />D.3 April 11, 2022, New Public Works Facility Tour <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the above minutes as presented. <br /> <br />F.1 Washington County Sheriff’s Office Annual Report – Sheriff Dan Starry <br /> <br />Washington County Sheriff Dan Starry will present to Council the 2021 Sheriff Department <br />Annual Report. <br /> <br />G.1 Approve Claims Roster <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br /> <br />G.2 Approve Special Event Permit for Blacksmith Lounge Summer Events <br /> <br />The Blacksmith Lounge, 17205 Forest Boulevard North, has applied for a Special Event Permit for <br />their 2022 events to be held between Memorial Day and end of September. Events include four <br />auctions, six car shows, one motorcycle swap meet, and one fundraising event. A SEP approved <br />by Council is required because there will be alcohol served outside and may be up to 200 people in <br />attendance. Staff feels the Blacksmith has done a good job of holding these events in past years <br />and recommends Council approve the 2022 summer events for the Blacksmith Lounge. <br /> <br />G.3 Approve Letter of Resignation for Community Development Assistant Emily Weber <br /> <br />Emily Weber has announced her resignation of employment as Community Development Assistant <br />for the City of Hugo after accepting a job offer in Colorado as a Planner. Staff recommends <br />Council approve the letter of resignation of Community Development Assistant Emily Weber <br />effective May 6, 2022. <br /> <br />G.4 Approve Advertisement for Community Development Intern <br /> <br />With the recent resignation of Emily Weber as the Community Development Assistant, staff <br />would like to advertise for a Community Development Intern. The intern would work on a wide <br />variety of Community Development, Planning, Parks, and Economic Development projects. The <br />intern would work closely with the Community Development Director and other City <br />departments to gain valuable experience in day-to-day City and community development <br />functions. Staff recommends Council approve the advertisement for a Community Development <br />Intern. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
