Tough Mudder Twin Cities 2022 Event Operations Plan <br />Safety <br />The health and safety of all participants, spectators, staff and others on-site throughout Tough Mudder <br />Twin Cities 2022 is a priority of the Event Team. <br />Responsibility for managing incidents across the event site rests with the Tough Mudder Event Team, led <br />by the Event Producer. <br />Occupational Health and Safety <br />Tough Mudder uses the following protocol to make sure the event site is as safe as possible and to <br />minimize the risk of harm to any individual: <br />●Guidelines have been developed and will be implemented at the event, including: <br />o Loading and Unloading Vehicles <br />o Setting Up and Packing Down Infrastructure <br />o Use of Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) <br />●In the event of an incident, one or more experienced team members have been designated as <br />‘safety officer’ to assist in the management of the incident. <br />●A series of checks are carried out to ensure the site is safe before gates are opened to <br />participants and spectators. <br />Power and Fuel <br />Approximate power usage: 12 x 2000W generators, 2 x 3000W generators and 30 x 6000W light towers. <br />Said generators will be gas or diesel powered. All fuel cells will be stored on/in leak proof containment <br />pans or storage. <br />Medical Arrangements <br />Tough Mudder events attract large numbers of people and are physically challenging by their nature. <br />Tough Mudder maintains an International Safety Committee, which is responsible for assessing risks and <br />establishing mitigation measures at all obstacles on the course. On-site medical care at Tough Mudder <br />events is conducted by Event Medic Services (EMS), who are responsible for recruitment and dispatch of <br />EMTs, paramedics, lifeguards, and other medical professionals involved in the event. <br />While participants and spectators are on site, a consistent medical presence is maintained. Every <br />Tough Mudder event will include a fully staffed and fully stocked medical tent, which will provide basic <br />lifesaving care. Medical personnel ranging from first responders to paramedics are stationed at various <br />locations around the course. Every event will have five medical rover teams with two EMTs each. <br />These rovers will circulate the course in pre-identified zones to provide emergency care, transport <br />injured participants, and otherwise monitor the safety of the course. Every rover is equipped with a <br />backboard, stoke basket, and automated external defibrillator. <br />8/16
