Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for April 18, 2022 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />Approve Pay Request No. 18 to Ebert Construction for the Public Works Facility <br /> <br />Ebert Construction had submitted Pay Request No. 18 in the amount of $143,221.48 for work <br />done on the Public Works Facility. The quantities completed to date had been reviewed and <br />agreed upon by the architect, contractor and City staff. The amount indicated above reflected <br />the work certified through March 31, 2022, with a 5% retainage applied. Total retainage being <br />held for the project to date was $473,706.06. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved Pay <br />Request No. 18 in the amount of $143,221.48 to Ebert Construction for the construction of the <br />City of Hugo Public Works facility. <br /> <br />Approve Pay Request No. 8 to Schreiber Mullaney Construction for Lions Park Building <br /> <br />Schreiber Mullaney had submitted Pay Request No. 8 for the new Pavilion in Lions Park in the <br />amount of $479,376.98. The quantities completed to date had been reviewed and agreed upon <br />by the architect, contractor and City staff. The amount indicated above reflected the work <br />certified through March 25, 2022, with a 5% retainage applied. The pay request included <br />Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $14,654.12 for added lights, additional wiring, and <br />exterior changes. The total retainage being held to date was $130,751.98. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda approved payment in the amount of $479,376.98 to Schreiber Mullaney <br />Construction for the construction of the City of Hugo Lions Park Pavilion. <br /> <br />Approve Letter of Resignation for Community Development Assistant Emily Weber <br /> <br />Emily Weber had announced her resignation of employment as Community Development <br />Assistant for the City of Hugo after accepting a job offer in Colorado as a Planner. Mayor Weidt <br />removed this from the Consent Agenda to thank Emily for the work she had done in the City of <br />Hugo. She explained would be working in Frisco, CO, a small mountain community of about <br />3,000 people, mostly tourist, and she said it was a hard decision to leave Hugo. The Council <br />wished her well. <br /> <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded to approve the letter of resignation of Community <br />Development Assistant Emily Weber effective May 6, 2022. <br /> <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Update on the Hopkins Schoolhouse <br /> <br />A meeting had been scheduled by the Hopkins Schoolhouse Committee in response to Council <br />direction at their February 7, 2022, meeting to reach out to the community to see if there was an <br />ambitious group to save the schoolhouse. City Administrator Bryan Bear said the decision on <br />the future of the schoolhouse was one of Council’s goals for 2022, and he talked about <br />Council’s discussions on not committing any tax dollars to fixing it. He said the schoolhouse <br />has had a tremendous amount of news coverage and discussion in the community. It was staff <br />intention to set it up for a group to come forward to create a plan for the schoolhouse’s <br />restoration and present the plan to Council for approval within six months. This meeting was <br />scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 10 a.m. to noon at Hugo City Hall. Staff will <br />provide Council an update of the meeting at their regular Council meeting on May 2, 2022. <br /> <br />
