Proposed Improvements <br />4.1 Surface <br />Partial road reconstruction is proposed for the following roads in the Birch Tree Ponds Area: <br /> <br /> Foxhill Avenue North (Egg Lake Road – Cul de Sac) <br /> 138th Street North (Foxhill Avenue North – Geneva Avenue North) <br /> Geneva Avenue North (Egg Lake Road – 135th Street North) <br /> 135th Street North (Geneva Avenue North – just west of 135th Court North) <br /> 135th Court North (135th Street North – Cul de Sac) <br /> Freeland Ave North (135th Street North – Cul De Sac) <br /> Freeland Court North (Freeland Avenue North – Cul de Sac) <br /> Fountain Avenue North (north of Egg Lake Road) <br /> 2 stub streets off of 135th Street North <br /> <br />Improvements on 135th Street North will end at the point where old pavement joins with new pavement <br />for the Adelaide Landing subdivision to the west of Birch Tree Ponds after parcel 5815 135th Street. <br /> <br />Mill and overlay improvements are proposed on the southerly segment of Fountain Avenue North. A <br />geotechnical evaluation indicated that this segment of Fountain Avenue North is recommended for mill <br />and overlay improvements. <br /> <br />The proposed improvements include the removal and replacement of portions of deficient concrete curb <br />and gutter along the full length of the project extents as condition warrants All roads were cored to <br />determine the existing class 5 and pavement thickness. The coring locations and logs, included in <br />Appendix D <br /> <br />The basic geometry of the roadway is not proposed to be significantly changed in any portion of the <br />project, either horizontally or vertically. The typical section for all road segments of the roadway is <br />included in Appendix A and match the existing roadway section. <br /> <br />4.2 Storm Sewer <br />The existing storm structure castings will be adjusted to match the new roadway elevations. Numerous <br />storm structures will be removed and replaced that have deteriorated. <br /> <br />4.3 Watermain <br />Several isolation valves will be added that will allow public works to limit the number of properties that <br />would shut off in the event of a watermain break. Valves will be adjusted to match new roadway <br />elevations. Three hydrant extensions will be included to improve ease of operation. <br /> <br />4.4 Sanitary Sewer <br />Castings and manhole lids will be removed and replaced on a limited amount of deficient castings to <br />reduce inflow and infiltration of stormwater into the sanitary sewer system. <br /> <br />4.5 Permits/Approvals <br />The anticipated permits and approvals required, and the respective regulatory agencies are listed below. <br /> <br /> City of Hugo ......................................................................Drainage/Erosion Control Permit
