14 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> If a mandatory training or drill is missed, employees have one year to <br />make it up. If EMR Mod training is missed, the employee must make up <br />the training in there recertification cycle. Those employees that fail to <br />make up missed training or drills will be given a verbal warning. If an <br />employee has already received a disciplinary action, the second offense <br />shall be reviewed by the Fire Chief and appropriate discipline, up to and <br />including termination, may be implemented based upon the <br />circumstances. <br /> <br />11.4 Firefighter Emergency Call Expectations. The Hugo Fire Department is <br />responsible for responding to emergency situations in a timely fashion <br />with adequate resources. Firefighters are expected to respond promptly <br />to the station unless released by a chief officer or duty officer and to <br />remain until the call is completed or released by a ranking officer. <br /> <br /> <br />In addition to training attendance, firefighters are required to respond to <br />25% of emergency calls. Call percentages are reviewed annually. If a <br />firefighter does not meet annual attendance requirements, their superior <br />will notify the employee following the release of the annual <br />percentages.17 <br /> <br />Any disciplinary action will be kept on record within the employee <br />personnel file. Training and meeting attendance is tracked separately by <br />assigned officers; however, it is the responsibility of each employee that <br />they keep track of their training and meeting attendance to maintain good <br />standing within the department. <br /> <br />11.5 Firefighter Emergency Call Holiday Coverage. The City will pay time <br />and half for all calls that occur during the following holidays: New <br />Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and <br />Christmas Day.on all city-recognized holidays as specified in section 29.0 <br />a.18 <br /> <br />12.0 Rest Periods and Meal Breaks <br /> <br />Where practical, employees shall be allowed a fifteen minute break period, with <br />pay, during each four hours of work. Break periods shall be scheduled at the <br />discretion of department heads.
