<br />CITY OF HUGO – PUBLIC WORKS JOB OPPORTUNITY <br /> <br />Utilities Lead Worker <br /> <br />Serves as the lead worker responsible for organizing and leading a crew of workers in <br />utility (storm/sanitary/water) maintenance activities including prioritizing daily work <br />tasks and long range goals of the City’s utility infrastructure. Leads crews in the <br />troubleshooting and performing of the more complex maintenance repairs to the City’s <br />utility infrastructure. This position also performs general Public Works duties as needed. <br />Operates a variety of heavy equipment to maintain City infrastructure and other general <br />maintenance and repair work. Serves on the City’s “on-call” rotation, and responds to <br />emergency situations for all aspects of public works. Preferred qualifications: High <br />school degree or equivalent. Training in related fields and at least three years of <br />experience with a municipal public works department. Demonstrated leadership skills <br />and proficiency in the utilities maintenance field. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. <br />Class A commercial driver’s license with Tank Vehicle (N) endorsement or the ability to <br />obtain one within 6 months. Must possess at least a Class C water operator’s license and <br />Class S-C Collection system license and must obtain both Class B water and Class S-B <br />sewer licenses within 12 months. Ability to attend employer-required training and obtain <br />additional water and wastewater licenses and education as directed.
