<br />G.7 Approve Retirement of Hugo Firefighter Doug Millard <br /> <br />Doug Millard has served on the Hugo Fire Department since being hired in October, 2010. Doug <br />has submitted his letter of retirement. Staff recommends Council approve the retirement of <br />Doug Millard effective May 31, 2023. <br /> <br />G.8 Approve Resignation of Administrative Intern Joe Hinzman <br /> <br />Joe Hinzman was hired as an Administrative Intern and began work on October 24, 2022. Joe <br />has found full time employment in the private sector and has submitted his letter of resignation. <br />Staff recommends Council approve the resignation of Joe Hinzman effective June 2, 2023. <br /> <br />G.9 Approve Donation from the Hugo American Legion to the Hugo Fire Department <br /> <br />The Hugo American Legion has requested to donate $1,000 to the Hugo Fire Department from <br />pull-tab proceeds for equipment. All donations to the Fire Department must be approved by the <br />Council. Staff recommends Council approve the donation of $1,000 to the Hugo Fire <br />Department. <br /> <br />G.10 Approve Special Event Permit for Ruck March on August 5, 2023 <br /> <br />Raymond Singson, 23rd Veteran representative, has applied for a Special Event Permit to hold a <br />Ruck March on August 5, 2023, at Wild Wings of Oneka, 14733 Irish Avenue North. 23rd <br />Veteran is a 501c3 nonprofit that works to help veterans living with trauma. Participants will <br />walk up to ten miles on a 1-2 mile loop with backpacks loaded with donation for homeless <br />veterans. There will also be 10-20 vendors on site. This would be the 8th consecutive year this <br />event has been held and the first year held at Wild Wings. This requires a Special Event Permit <br />approved by Council because there will be an estimated 500 registered attendees, use of an <br />amplified sound system, and alcohol served. Staff recommends Council approve the Special <br />Event Permit for the Ruck March on August 5, 2023, subject to the conditions in the staff memo. <br /> <br />G.11 Approve Temporary Liquor License for Hugo Yellow Ribbon Network for Ruck <br />March on August 5, 2023 <br /> <br />The Hugo Yellow Ribbon Network has applied for a Temporary Liquor License to sell beer at <br />the Ruck March on August 5, 2023, at Wild Wings Game Farm. The Hugo Lions Club will <br />assist the Ruck Mark in organizing and selling. Staff has received the permit application, fee, <br />and proper insurance. Staff recommends Council approve the Temporary Liquor License for the <br />Hugo Yellow Ribbon Network for the Ruck March on August 5, 2023. <br /> <br />G.12 Approve Special Event Permit for Tough Mudder on July 8-9, 2023 <br /> <br />Tough Mudder has applied for a Special Event Permit to hold a two- day endurance sport event <br />at Wild Wings Game Farm on July 8-9 including an overnight event on Saturday, July 8. Tough <br />Mudder is a for profit company that has held events in the US since 2010 and elsewhere in the <br />world since 2016. This will be the seventh year the event has been held at Wild Wings. This <br />requires a Special Event Permit approved by Council because there will be an estimated 5,400 <br />people on site on Saturday, 550 overnight on Saturday, and 2,000 on Sunday; impacts to public <br />streets; use of an amplified sound system; and alcohol served. Staff recommends Council <br />approve the Special Event Permit for the Tough Mudder on July 8-9, 2023, subject to the <br />conditions in the staff memo. <br />
