Council Meeting Minutes for June 12, 2023 <br />Page 4 of 12 <br /> <br /> <br />Approve Annual Performance Review for Utility Billing Clerk Jodie Guareschi <br /> <br />At its June 17, 2002, meeting, Council approved Jodie Guareschi as the City’s Utility Billing <br />Clerk in the Finance Department. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the annual <br />performance review for Utility Billing Clerk Jodie Guareschi. <br /> <br />Approve Annual Performance Review for Public Works Streets Lead Worker Tom Smith <br /> <br />Tom Smith was hired by the City of Hugo on June 26, 2000 as a Worker in Public Works <br />Department and promoted to Streets Lead Worker on April 17, 2023. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda approved the annual performance review for Public Works Worker Tom Smith. <br /> <br />Approve Retirement of Hugo Firefighter Doug Millard <br /> <br />Doug Millard had served on the Hugo Fire Department since being hired in October, 2010. <br />Doug had submitted his letter of retirement. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the <br />retirement of Doug Millard effective May 31, 2023. <br /> <br />Approve Resignation of Administrative Intern Joe Hinzman <br /> <br />Joe Hinzman was hired as an Administrative Intern and began work on October 24, 2022. Joe <br />found full time employment in the private sector and had submitted his letter of resignation. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the resignation of Joe Hinzman effective June 2, <br />2023. <br /> <br />Approve Donation from the Hugo American Legion to the Hugo Fire Department <br /> <br />The Hugo American Legion had requested to donate $1,000 to the Hugo Fire Department from <br />pull-tab proceeds for equipment. All donations to the Fire Department needed to be approved by <br />the Council. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the donation of $1,000 to the Hugo Fire <br />Department. <br /> <br />Approve Special Event Permit for Ruck March on August 5, 2023 <br /> <br />Raymond Singson, 23rd Veteran representative, had applied for a Special Event Permit to hold a <br />Ruck March on August 5, 2023, at Wild Wings of Oneka, 14733 Irish Avenue North. 23rd <br />Veteran is a 501c3 nonprofit that works to help veterans living with trauma. Participants would <br />walk up to ten miles on a 1-2 mile loop with backpacks loaded with donation for homeless <br />veterans. This would be the 8th consecutive year this event has been held and the first year held <br />at Wild Wings. This required a Special Event Permit approved by Council because there would <br />be an estimated 500 registered attendees, use of an amplified sound system, and alcohol served. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Special Event Permit for the Ruck March on <br />August 5, 2023, subject to the conditions in the staff memo. <br /> <br />
