Deputy Chief Job Description <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />• Ability to direct the work of the Safety Captain, Chief Engineer, and other <br />subordinate staff. <br />• Ability to participate in the development of departmental goals and objectives. <br /> <br />Education and /or Certifications <br />• All education and/or certifications for Captain position. <br />• All classes needed for the position as approved by the Fire Chief. <br /> <br />Desired Education, Certifications, and/or Experience <br /> Engineer, Chief Engineer, Lieutenant, and/or Captain positions. <br /> Fire Apparatus Operator (FAO) Class and/or State Certification <br /> Fire Officer I State Certification <br /> Fire Officer II Class and/or State Certification <br /> Fire Instructor I Class and/or State Certification <br /> Fire Instructor II Class and/or State Certification <br /> National Fire Academy (NFA) Leadership Classes <br /> <br />OR <br /> <br /> Any alternatives or substitutions to the above qualifications or education as the <br />Fire Chief may find appropriate. <br /> <br />Annual Requirements <br /> Maintain all annual requirements of Firefighter position. <br /> Maintain certifications required for position. <br />
