Proposed Improvements <br />4.1 Surface <br />Improvements proposed are intended to improve the design strength of the pavement <br />system and provide a street surface with an extended life. Proposed improvements <br />consist of a bituminous pavement reclamation matching the existing pavement width. <br />Reclamation is the process by which the existing deteriorating roadway surface is <br />reused as aggregate roadway base for the new street section. In locations where <br />the existing aggregate and bituminous sections do not provide an adequate base, <br />additional subgrade corrections will be completed. <br />Street grades are proposed to very closely match the existing grades to minimize <br />construction impacts to adjacent properties. Minor adjustments to some of the <br />existing roadway vertical profiles will be proposed to improve pavement drainage <br />conditions where feasible <br />The typical sections for both existing and proposed street improvements are <br />included in Appendix A. <br />4.2 Municipal Utilities <br />4.2.1 Sanitary Sewer <br />Sanitary sewer improvements are not proposed to be included with this <br />improvement project. <br />4.2.2 Water Main <br />Water main improvements are not proposed to be included with this <br />improvement project. <br />4.3 Storm Sewer <br />The proposed project will maintain the existing drainage patterns and discharge <br />points to the greatest extent possible. Deficient culverts will be replaced with <br />reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) as necessary to convey storm water runoff. <br />4.4 Permits/Approvals <br />The anticipated permits and approvals required, and the respective regulatory <br />agencies are listed below. <br />City of Hugo .......................................................Drainage/Erosion Control Permit <br />4.5 Construction Access/Staging <br />The contractor will be responsible for providing access to all existing properties <br />throughout the project.
