A one-mile gap in the trail exists in Hugo where the rail line remains active. The <br />proposed extension project will address this key gap in the trail network; provide improved bike and <br />pedestrian access to important local destinations, such as Bald Eagle-Otter Lake Regional Park and Lions Park; <br />and be the missing link in connecting neighboring counties’ trail networks. We eagerly anticipate the full <br />completion of the envisioned Hardwood Creek Regional Trail, and local access to the eventual 40 plus miles of <br />continuous dedicated trails connecting Chisago (Sunrise Prairie Regional Trail), Washington (Hardwood Creek <br />Regional Trail), and Ramsey (Bruce Vento Regional Trail) counties. <br /> <br />Furthermore, these improvements are consistent with the City’s 2040 comprehensive plan.
