<br />BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON JULY 21, 2025 <br /> <br />D.1 June 30, 2025, Commissioner Interviews <br />D.2 July 7, 2025, Council Photos <br />D.2 July 7, 2025, City Council Meeting <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the above minutes as presented. <br /> <br />F.1 Yellow Ribbon Network Update - Chair Chuck Haas <br /> <br />Chair Chuck Haas will provide an update on recent activities of the Hugo Yellow Ribbon <br />Network. <br /> <br />G. 1 Approve Claims Roster <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br /> <br />G.2 Approve Jeff Maas as New Public Works Utility Lead Worker <br /> <br />The City Council, at their July 7, 2025, meeting, gave authorization to hold interviews and select <br />an internal candidate to fill the position of Utility Lead Worker for the Public Works <br />Department. Staff is recommending the promotion of Jeff Maas to the position of Public Works <br />Utility Lead Worker. This position would be pay grade 6 (non-exempt) and Jeff would begin at <br />the maximum step of the salary matrix. Jeff has been a valuable member of the Public Works <br />Department since 2006. He is very capable and has many years of experience with an emphasis <br />on municipal utility infrastructure <br /> <br />G.3 Approve Advertisement for Vacant Public Works Worker Position <br /> <br />With the recent resignation of a Public Works employee, there is one open position in the Public <br />Works Department. Staff requests Council approval to advertise externally for the vacant Public <br />Works Worker position in the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />G.4 Approve Appointment of Jordan Fahey to the Planning Commission <br /> <br />On June 30, 2025, Council held interviews to consider applicants to fill vacant commission <br />positions. After discussion, Council selected Jordan Fahey to fill the vacant position on the <br />Planning Commission. Staff recommends Council appoint Jordan Fahey as a new Planning <br />Commissioner. <br /> <br />G.5 Approve Minor Subdivision for Barton Guthrie – 8991 130th Street North <br /> <br />Barton Guthrie is requesting a minor subdivision of a 40-acre parcel located at 8991 130th Street <br />North, splitting it into a 30-acre parcel and a 10-acre parcel. At its July 10, 2025, meeting the <br />Planning Commission held a public hearing, and considered the request. No one spoke during the <br />public hearing. The Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the
