<br />: <br /> Page 22 <br />Section 5.02 Core Hours <br /> <br />To ensure employee availability and accountability to the public the City serves, all full-time <br />employees (exempt and non-exempt), with the exception of Public Works employees, are to be <br />at work and available to the public and co-workers during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., <br />Monday through Friday, unless away from the work site for a work-related activity or on <br />approved leave. The core hours for Public Works employees are 6:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday <br />through Friday. Public Works employees may be authorized to work ten-hour days during the <br />summer months as determined by the Public Works Director. Variations from these hours, if <br />recommended by the Department Head, may be approved by the City Administrator. <br /> <br />Section 5.03 Meal Breaks and Rest Periods <br /> <br />Where practical, employees shall be allowed a fifteen-minute break period, with pay, during each <br />four hours of work. Break periods shall be scheduled at the discretion of Department Heads. <br />Additionally, employees shall be permitted one-half hour per each six (6) hour shift, without pay, <br />for a meal period. <br /> <br />Section 5.04 Adverse Weather Conditions <br /> <br />City facilities will generally be open during adverse weather. Due to individual circumstances, <br />each employee will have to evaluate the weather and road conditions in deciding to report to <br />work (or leave early). An employee can use PTO if, by their own decision, they choose not to <br />report to work due to adverse weather conditions; or with Department Head approval, may <br />modify the work schedule or make other reasonable schedule adjustments. <br /> <br />Decisions to cancel City functions (special events, recreation programs, etc.) will be made by the <br />respective Department Head or the City Administrator in consultation with the Mayor. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 6 COMPENSATION <br /> <br />Section 6.01 Compensation <br /> <br />All employees of the City, except seasonal and temporary employees, will be compensated <br />according to the salary resolution adopted by the City Council. Unless approved by the Council, <br />employees will not receive any amount from the City in addition to the pay authorized for the <br />positions to which they have been appointed. Expense reimbursement or travel expenses may <br />be authorized in addition to regular pay. Compensation for seasonal and temporary employees <br />will be set by the City Council at the time of hire, or on an annual basis. <br /> <br />Under the Minnesota Wage Disclosure Protection Law, employees have the right to tell any <br />person the amount of their own wages. While the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act <br />(Minn. Stat. §13.43), specifically lists an employee’s actual gross salary and salary range as public
