DATE: December 8, 1999 FROM: Robyn LaCasse SUBJECT: Parks Commission Meeting DATE OF MEETING: November 11, 1999 LOCATION: Firstar Hugo Bank Meeting Room ATTENDEES: Kathy Marier(Absent) Robyn LaCasse Nancy Chehno Pete Pedersen David Stub Bronwen Kleissler(Planning Comm.Rep) Chuck Haas(City Council Rep) Enclosed are the minutes from the November 11, 1999,Parks Commission Meeting for your review. 1. Review of the strategic plan is on the agenda for the next City Council meeting. A copy of the park selection criteria should be distributed to the Planning Commission and City Council. 2. Put on schedule to do a follow-up with Wilson Tool for February. Clarified that Wilson Tool did not indicate if opposed or in favor of a trail. 3. Updated on Beaver Ponds,seed and water has been approved but will not start until spring. Need to work on land south of this. The Hauble landowner would like to see a list of options. Could we have the city attorney prepare. 4. HHM Property is still being looked at,we would like an update on the status. 5. Pete had a discussion with the Bernin property owners and a appraisal will be done. Further discussion will need to take place. 6. Discussion on who will Chair the Park Commission as Kathy Marier will complete her term December 31, 1999. Robyn LaCasse was asked to assume this position and accepted. City Council needs to approve. 7. Pete had a discussion with the LaCasse property owners NE of the old school house. They indicated they would probably move within 5 years but will only sell entire parcel(10 acres). We will need to negotiate. 8. Pete spoke to the St.Paul Press and a article should appear in the November 12th paper. 9. Hugo school would like to discuss purchasing new equipment. We would like to invite to a future meeting. Have them bring plans if possible.
