A. Fast pitch softball,200 ft. fences, for girls will accommodate baseball for 12 year old boys. <br /> B. Build soccer fields in a variety of sizes; minimum 120 ft.by 170 ft.;build soccer fields as <br /> large as the site will allow. <br /> C. Good quality playing fields need to be irrigated to establish and maintain turf. <br /> D. Build softball fields with 75 ft. infields to accommodate different age groups. <br /> E. White Bear built two outdoor skating rinks with concrete surfaces; they are used for in line <br /> skating in the summer and flooded for ice rinks in the winter. <br /> Dave stated that he would be glad to come back and assist the commission any time; the <br /> commission was grateful for his assistance. <br /> 3. The commission is considering purchasing the Bernin property on Oneka Lake. They <br /> developed a resolution to present to the City Council. This resolution is attached. <br /> 4. The park at Beaver Ponds was discussed. The soccer field is being constructed,seeding will <br /> occur this fall.The turf must become established and grow for one season before it can be <br /> played on. Because of this the commission will wait to select play equipment and construct a <br /> parking lot until the turf is established. The earliest this will be is September 2000. <br /> 5. Tennis nets should be installed at the City Hall courts next spring. The Parks Commission needs to develop a capital improvements budget for 2000. This will <br /> list all the projects they would like to undertake and the associated budget amounts. This <br /> direction was given when the Bernin property was discussed. The Parks Commission needs to <br /> consolidate and coordinate the requests the have for the City Council. <br />
