<br /> <br /> <br /> Created: 2025-05-22 16:40:53 [EST] <br />(Supp. No. 36) <br /> <br />Page 143 of 198 <br />(1) It is unlawful for any person to construct or operate a private marina, except in conformance with this <br />chapter. <br />(2) Private marinas may provide up to one mooring slip for each 50 feet of shoreline on natural <br />environment lakes, and one mooring slip for each 25 feet of shoreline on all other lakes, or one <br />mooring slip per thousand square feet of common area above the ordinary high-water level, <br />whichever is lower. Private marinas serving a planned unit development may provide one docking or <br />mooring space for each allowable unit in the first tier of development. <br />(3) Private marinas may be allowed one boat-launching ramp, including a dock not extending more than <br />30 feet over the water as measured from the ordinary high-water elevation. <br />(4) The number of boats maintained on the site may not exceed the number of mooring slips permitted. <br />(5) Exterior storage is prohibited on the grounds of private marinas. <br />(6) Off-street parking may be required on site at private marinas. <br />(7) Use of private marinas for commercial purposes is prohibited. <br />(b) The following applies to commercial marinas: <br />(1) It is unlawful for any person to construct or operate a commercial marina except in conformance with <br />this chapter. <br />(2) All commercial marinas must have their principal access on a paved public road. <br />(3) All commercial marinas must provide sanitary facilities and a potable water supply for use by their <br />patrons. <br />(4) Commercial marinas may provide up to one mooring slip for each 25 feet of shoreline on natural <br />environment lakes, and one mooring slip for each 15 feet of shoreline on all other lakes, or one <br />mooring slip per 600 square feet of property above the ordinary high-water level, whichever is lower. <br />(5) The number of boats maintained on the site may not exceed the number of mooring slips permitted. <br />(6) Commercial marinas shall provide off-street parking in accordance with this chapter. <br />(7) Exterior storage is prohibited on the grounds of commercial marinas. <br />(Prior Code, § 1195-460.1, § 90-244 & 90-245) <br />Sec. 90-245. Meat processing facility. <br />(a) It is unlawful for any person to establish a meat processing facility in the city, except in conformance with the <br />following requirements: <br />(1) Meat processing facilities may be allowed only as an accessory use to a meat market as a conditional <br />use. The meat processing facility shall be located in the same building as a meat market and the floor <br />area of the meat processing facility shall not exceed the floor area of the meat market. <br />(2) The applicant must submit a plan showing all staging areas for the temporary storage of carcasses and <br />disposal of animal remains. Any staging area must be screened by an opaque fence, such that any <br />animal remains are not visible from surrounding properties. <br />(3) Animal remains from the meat processing must be disposed of at least on a weekly basis. The city may <br />require more frequent pickups of the remains if odors become detectable off of the premises. All <br />animal remains must be kept in a sealed dumpster container with a lid at all times. <br />(Prior Code, § 1195-465.1, § 90-246)
