<br /> <br /> <br /> Created: 2025-05-22 16:40:53 [EST] <br />(Supp. No. 36) <br /> <br />Page 146 of 198 <br />(b) Private individuals may sell to another individual a motor vehicle, boat, farm machinery, or trailer that they <br />have owned for their personal use, from their own property. <br />(c) The minimum development standards established below shall be complied with in full prior to the storage or <br />sale of any motor vehicle, boat, farm machinery, or trailer from any parcel or lot: <br />(1) Minimum lot width of 150 feet is required, except for a corner lot, where 200 feet of frontage is <br />required on any state highway or county road. <br />(2) All sales shall occur on one lot. <br />(3) Parking areas for the outside storage and sale of vehicles, boats, farm machinery, and trailers, shall be <br />on impervious surface, either bituminous, concrete, or approved equivalent. <br />(4) Interior concrete or asphalt curbs shall be constructed within the property to separate driving and <br />parking areas from landscaped areas. Interior curbs shall be at least six inches in height, except at <br />approved entrance and exit locations. <br />(5) All areas of the property not devoted to buildings or parking areas shall be landscaped in accordance <br />with section 90-236. <br />(6) Off-street parking shall be provided for customers and employees in accordance with section 90-252 in <br />addition to those provided for the outside storage and sale of vehicles, boats, farm machinery, and <br />trailers. <br />(7) The maximum area permitted for outside storage of motor vehicles, boats, farm machinery, and <br />trailers, shall not exceed eight square feet of outside storage area to each one square foot of enclosed <br />area. Each space used as parking for any motor vehicle, boat, farm machinery, or trailer which is for <br />sale shall not be less than nine feet wide by 18 feet in length. <br />(d) Display of motor vehicles, boats, farm machinery, and trailers for sale off the property of their owner is <br />prohibited unless authorized by conditional use permit. <br />(e) All motor vehicles, boats, farm machinery, and trailers sale uses must be served by public sanitary sewer and <br />water. <br />(Prior Code, § 1195-490.1, § 90-249) <br />Sec. 90-249. Motor vehicle repair business. <br />(a) It is unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle repair business in the city, except in conformance <br />with this chapter. <br />(b) A drainage system for the collection of hazardous materials must be installed in conformance with the rules <br />and regulations of the state pollution control agency. <br />(c) All of the lots not covered by buildings or impervious surface shall be landscaped in accordance with section <br />90-236. <br />(d) Interior concrete curbs shall be constructed within the property separating driving and parking surfaces from <br />landscaped areas. Interior curbs must be at least six inches in height, except at approved entrance and exit <br />locations. <br />(e) No vehicles shall be parked on the premises except those utilized by employees, customers awaiting service, <br />or as allowed by the conditional use permit. Storage of unlicensed vehicles is prohibited. <br />(f) Exterior storage shall be limited to items offered for sale on the site. All such items shall be located in <br />compliance with yard setback requirements and shall be located in containers or on racks or similar <br />structures designed to display merchandise.
