Any vehicle parked in violation of these sections more than two times in any 30-day period may <br />be towed pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 169.041. Violation of this section shall constitute a petty <br />misdemeanor with a fine of $50.00. <br />(2) Large recreational vehicles as defined under section 90-1. <br />a. Except for on properties zoned agricultural, long-term agricultural, rural residential or future <br />urban service, all lakeshore property, and all properties at least one acre in size, large <br />recreational equipment units shall be parked or stored within a building, except that large <br />recreational equipment may be parked or stored on the property outside of a building under the <br />following conditions: <br />1. No more than two large recreational equipment units shall be parked or stored outside of a <br />building on the property, with not more than one unit being located in the front yard and <br />no more than one unit being located in the rear yard. <br />2. For properties exceeding one-half acre in size, no more than three large recreational <br />equipment units shall be parked or stored outside of a building on the property, with not <br />more than one unit being located in the front yard and no more than two unit being <br />located in the rear yard. <br />3. Large recreational equipment may be parked in the front yard, provided it is kept on an <br />established driveway, and is entirely on the equipment owner's property. Recreational <br />equipment shall not be parked or stored on public property, in a street right-of-way, or <br />closer than 30 feet from the curb, except that between one week before Memorial Day and <br />one week after Labor Day recreational equipment may be parked no closer than ten feet <br />from the curb. <br />4. Large recreational equipment may be parked in the side yard abutting an attached or <br />detached garage, provided the area is surfaced with asphalt, concrete, or crushed <br />decorative rock. If the area is surfaced with asphalt or concrete, the surface shall be no <br />closer than five feet from the side lot line. If the area is surfaced with decorative crushed <br />rock, the surface shall be no closer than one foot from the side lot line. Parking or storage <br />of large recreational equipment on the side yard abutting the principal building is <br />prohibited. <br />5. Large recreational equipment may be parked in the rear yard, no closer than five feet from <br />the rear lot line, five feet from the side lot lines, and not located within a drainage or utility <br />easement. <br />6. In the case of a corner lot, large recreational equipment may be stored on the side of an <br />attached or detached garage adjacent to a public street, but shall be located at least 20 <br />feet from the public right-of-way. <br />7. Large recreational equipment may be parked or stored temporarily while being loaded or <br />unloaded or during routine maintenance and servicing not exceeding 72 hours. <br />8. Parking of licensed large recreational equipment is prohibited on all public streets except <br />while being loaded or unloaded for a period not to exceed 24 hours. <br />9. The community development director or his designee may approve an alternate location <br />for an item that does not meet the technical restrictions set forth in this section but that <br />otherwise complies with the intent of this section. Such approval may be accompanied by a <br />screening plan designed to minimize the impact to the surrounding properties. <br />(h) Commercial or public garages and ramps.
