Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for July 20,2015 <br /> Page 6 of 7 <br /> Washington County Snecial Event Policy-Haas <br /> Haas added this to the agenda to talk about the recent Senior Games bike race that took place <br /> along CSAH 57 stating that neighbors were upset about the closing of the road and the <br /> privatizing of a public road for this use. There was also another biking group doing time trials <br /> on 157t last Saturday. Haas stated that these rural roads aren't wide enough,and other roads are <br /> better suited. He said he also felt there needs to be enforcement on the responsibilities of the <br /> bikers. <br /> Mayor Weidt briefly discussed the Tour de Hugo bike ride that the City was sponsoring, and said <br /> that bikers do have some rights to use the roads,but there needs to be a bigger shoulder. The <br /> Council generally agreed that Washington County needed to be more involved and meet with <br /> bike clubs to look for other alternatives. <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear stated that staff has been in contact with the permitting authority <br /> at Washington County,and was informed that a workshop is being scheduled with the County <br /> Board. Staff will provide the Council with details when available. <br /> Irish Avenue Park-Haas <br /> Haas added this to the agenda in response to resident complaints in the Irish Avenue Park area <br /> regarding an electronic car racing track being constructed at the Park. Haas asked that staff take <br /> a step back and reengage the neighborhood on what is going to happen at the park. <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear stated that staff will be sending a letter to residents inviting them <br /> to the August Parks Commission meeting to discuss Irish Avenue Park. <br /> Farm-City Fun Day on Sunday.July 26.2015 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council that the Miron family and Washington-Ramsey <br /> Farm Bureau will host a Farm-City Fun Day at the Miron Century Family Farm, 15250 <br /> Homestead Avenue North,on Sunday,July 26,2015 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. This is a family <br /> friendly event. Donation will be accepted to support scholarships for agriculture students.The <br /> event is open to the public. <br /> Petryk made motion, Klein seconded,to schedule a meeting to attend the Farm-City Fun Day on <br /> Sunday,July 26, 2015. <br /> Ayes. Haas, Klein, Petryk,Weidt <br /> Abstain: Miron <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Washington County Library Forum on Thursday.July 30.2015 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council that Washington County will be holding a <br /> community forum on Thursday,July 30,2015 from 7-9 p.m. at the Forest Lake Service Center as <br /> part of a strategic planning series focused on the future of the Washington County Library <br /> system. <br />
