Staff is reaching out to MnDOT, <br /> DNR,RCWD,and Bald Eagle Lakeowners' Association for additional funding. Staff will <br /> provide Council an update at the August 3, 2015 Council meeting. <br /> Update on the Water Summit on Thursday.July 16.2015 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear provided an update on the Water Summit held Thursday,July 16, <br /> 2015 at City Hall,which included a BBQ dinner provided by the City of Hugo. Bryan stated <br /> there was good representation of the cities at the meeting as well as the RCWD,DNR,Met <br /> Council, and local legislators. The group reviewed recent legislation and received updates from <br /> Met Council staff on their vision for regional water in the metro area, the master water supply <br /> plan,water reuse and conservation,and grant information that they will be supplying to the <br /> cities. An update was provided on the WBL settlement agreement,and the DNR talked about the <br /> GWMA plan that they expect to initiate by the end of the summer. The was consensus among <br /> the group for meetings to continue and for formalizing of the group. <br /> Council agreed it was a good idea to get together with other cities. Formalizing as a coalition <br /> would be a valuable tool. Staff will prepare a draft Joint Powers Agreement for consideration at <br /> the next Water Summit. <br /> Update on July 18.2015 Storm Damage and a Thank You to Staff <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear added this to the agenda to update the Council on Hugo's <br /> response to the storm that came through the City on July 18t•during the overnight hours, <br /> resulting in severe tree damage. City crews began removing brush on Saturday to clear roads, <br /> and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure and city owned property will continue this week. <br /> The City has initiated a City-wide storm debris pickup. Public works and contracting crews will <br /> be picking up brush that is placed next to the curb. This should be done before Sunday night for <br /> final cleanup on Monday. More information is available on the City's website. <br /> The Council discussed how to best inform the residents. Bryan explained that staff has been in <br /> the neighborhoods relaying this message,and the information was being spread through social <br /> media. The Citizen's Editor Deb Neutkens was in the audience and stated she would put <br /> something in the next issue coming out on Thursday. Staff will also issue a Code Red alert. <br /> Council Member Petryk added an item to the agenda to thank staff for their cleanup efforts. She <br /> stated that citizens did notice that City staff,Council,and the Fire Department were immediately <br /> out to help.The decision was made quickly to help with brush cleanup, and it was very much <br /> appreciated by residents. <br /> Yellow Ribbon Network Update <br /> Council Members Chuck Haas and Phil Klein provided an update on the City of Hugo's Yellow <br /> Ribbon Network activities. The YRN responded to a request for assistance to help clean up a <br /> site at the Big Marine Vets Camp.They are also responding to a request for playground <br /> equipment. Mike DeVine from DeVine Plumbing will be the sponsor for the next Hamburger <br /> Night. Council Member Haas provided an update on the upcoming Pheasant Hunt. <br />
