City Council meeting of May 6, 1991
Page 2
residential districts. There were no objections to the issuance of this
variance, subject to the garage being utilized for residential purposes
only,:.
Miran made motion, Brunotte seconded, to approve the application of Mr.
Peter Lowell for a variance to construct a 912 square foot attached garage
on his property located at 4990 126th Street North (a4::a Lot 8, Block
Bald Eagle Estates). The proposed garage is to be used for residential
purposes only.
All aye. Motion Carried.
VARIANCE REQUEST (D .__LACASSE
Mr. David LaCasse has made application to the City of Hugo for a variance
to construct a ••30' x 48' pole barn in front of his house located at 13487
Elmcrest Avenue (a%a the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 30, T=1N, R21W).
The property in question is zoned agriculture, and consists of
approximately 10.4 acres. The structure proposed will be located 580'
from Elmcrest Avenue. The City Code Enforcement Officer has reviewed this
request and, in his opinion, the proposed location is far enough from the
road to not create any visual obstructions. The request is consistent
with the Council's previous policy regarding variances for accessory
buildings in front of the principal structure for parcels of 10 acres or
more. There were no objections to the issuance of this variance, subject
to the proposed accessory building being utilized for residential pUrposei.
only.
McAllister made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the application of Mr.
David LaCasse for a variance to construct a .=0' x 48' pole barn in front
of his house located at 17,487 Elmcrest Avenue (ak.a the NW 1/4 of the SW
1/4 of Section •ZO, T31N. R21W). The proposed building is to be used for
residential purposes only.
All aye. Motion Carried.
VARIANCE REQUEST (J. LEMOINE)
Mr. Jim LeMoine of 14451 Homestead Avenue North has made application for a
variance to place a 22' x 40' post -frame building on his. property
identified as Lot 7 and OUtlot A, Block 2, Evergreen Hills 2nd Addition.
The property in question is zoned agricultural and consists of
approximately 6 acres. The City ordinance requires a minimum 40' setback:
from the front property line in an agricUltUral zone. City ordinances
also prohibit construction of an acces=sory building in front of the
principal residence. Mr. LeMoine is ast::inq for a variance from these two
requirements, which would allow the accessory building in front of the
house, and 27' from the front property line (40' setback is required). Ii
reviewing this site, it would be necessary to remove a larqe number of
trees from the site to meet the required setback conditions. The Board o
Zoning Adjustments considered this variance request at their meeting of
April 24, 1991, and recommended approval of the variance.
