City Council meeting of December, 1.991 Paae 4 and Associates. The cost and fee for services are reflected in Sections j. and 5 of the proposal. The recruitment process proposed will take approximately four months unless the Council chooses the "modified" approach, which would cut approximately two -to -four weeks from the recruitment time. Jesinski made motion, Stolt man seconded, to employ Jim Brimeyer of Sathe and Associates to conduct the search for a city administrator using the "modified approach", at a cost not to exceed $10,500. Mr. Brimeyer- is to be the main person conducting the recruitment. All aye. Motion Carried. Councilman JesinsE-:i stated that as long as the City Council is discussing the replacement of a city administrator, it would be appropriate to consider who will be handling the administrative duties after the l.st of the year. He indicated his concern for adequate staffing, and providing a smooth transition to a new city administrator. Jesinst-:i made motion, Barnes seconded, to extend the contract of City Administrator, F::en Huber, for a three-month period, beginning January 1, 1992, based on his current contractual arrangement with the City. Councilman Miron inquired as to compensation arrangements to retain the City Administrator. Mayor Stolt man stated that it was the intent to merely extend the contract, based on current salary and fringe benefits. Mayor Stolt man inquired of the City Administrator as to his willingness to accept this offer for the time period proposed. The City Administrator accepted the proposal with the understanding that he would be leaving his position if he secures employment elsewhere, or at such time as the new city administrator officially tat -:es office with the City. He also assured the City Council that although it was understood that the fringe -benefit pact -:age and wages would not change from the current contract, and economic benefits would be prorated for that period of time he would be serving as the City's administrator.
