City Council meeting of December 16, 1991 <br />Page 5 <br />reviewed the rolls of the current watershed districts, and the need to <br />dovetail our plan with those of the various watershed districts in the <br />area. He discussed plan implementation, and the complexities of this type <br />of study. Mr' Ken Weber then reviewed all the work that has been done <br />to -date in preparation for this study. He pointed out the expenses that <br />would be incurred to secure topographic mapping, water -flow modeling, and <br />other technical tasks that would be a major part of this overall study. <br />Mr' Weber then reviewed the timetable for completion of this project. <br />Councilman Miron questioned the timetable, indicating that he did not feel <br />an August, 1992, completion date was very realistic. Mr' Chuck King <br />addressed the Council, and indicated that the Council should not worry too <br />much about the timetable, and that it was important that they were moving <br />forward with their study. Mr' King also brought the Council up-to-date on <br />the workings of the Rice Creek Watershed District, and its roll in dealing <br />with surface water runoff and protecting wetlands. Councilman Barnes then <br />indicated she was much more comfortable with the status of this study, and <br />the type of working documents the City would be provided with when the <br />study is complete. <br />RFF'S (CITY HAL <br />As a follow up to previous Council direction, the Council received a copy <br />of the Outline for Proposals from architects and engineers to study the <br />current and future needs of the City with regard to municipal facilities. <br />Councilman Miron felt it important to encourage local involvement in the <br />project. Councilmen Miron and Brunotte asked that they be notified of the <br />date and time the staff will be meeting with the architects. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />Stoltzman made motion, Jesinski seconded, that the City Council supports <br />S.F. #1598, which would repeal M.S. 207A, the presidential primary. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Councilmen Brunotte and Miron requesied that the City Administrator <br />provide them with costs to the City as a result of the three-month <br />extension of his contract. <br />Miron made motion, Barres seconded, to adjourn at 10:20 PM. <br />All aye.
