City Council meeting of November 19, 1990 <br />Page _ <br />VARIANCE (OVER -SIZE GARAGE) <br />Jeffrey and Bernadette Arcand have made application to the City of Hugo <br />for a variance to construct an 884 square foot attached garage in an <br />agricultural zoning district. The property in question consists of <br />approximately 10 acres, and is located at 13985 Elmcrest Avenue, Hugo, MN. <br />The garage is to be for personal use only, and no commercial activity will <br />take place on the property. The request in question is consistent with <br />current Council policy regarding variances for over -sized garages of this <br />nature. <br />Vail made motion, Atkinson seconded, to approve the variance request of <br />Jeffrey and Bernadette Arcand to construct an 884 square foot attached <br />garage at 13985 Elmcrest Avenue. The proposed garage shall be used for <br />residential purposes only. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR BIRCH TREE PONDS <br />On behalf of Merila and Associates, Inc.. Mr. John Johnson has made a <br />formal request to the City to accept the grading, streets, and utilities <br />for Birch Tree Ponds, Phase 1. The City Engineer, Howard KUusisto, is <br />recommending acceptance of the improvements, as requested, subject to <br />holding the required financial retainage as provided for in the <br />Development Agreement, as well as an additional $6,500 to cover the cost <br />of trees that are to be planted within the subdivision development, as <br />required by the City's subdivision ordinance. <br />Olson made motion, Vail seconded, that the City of Hugo accept the <br />grading, streets, and utilities for Birch Tree Ponds, Phase 1, subject to <br />the recommendation of the City Engineer requiring financial retainage as <br />provided for in the Development Agreement, as well as an additional $6,500 <br />to cover the cost of trees that are to be planted with the subdivision <br />development. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />COMPLAINT LETTER <br />The City Council received a copy of a letter of complaint regarding <br />alleged activities at Ricci's Saloon and Eatery. <br />Mayor Atkinson directed the staff to <br />owner/s of Ricci's Saloon and Eatery <br />Office.
