MINUTES FOR THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 16, 1988 <br />The regular meeting of the Hugo City Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Atkinson at 7:00 PM. <br />PRESENT: Peltier, Potts, Olson, Vail, Atkinson <br />City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager <br />Peltier made motion, Vail seconded, to approve the minutes for February 1, <br />1988 as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Potts made motion, Peltier seconded, to approve the General Claims for <br />February 16, 1988 in the amount of $21,804.7•=. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Peltier made motion, Vail seconded, to approve the Utility Claims for <br />February 16, 1988 in the amount of $926.24. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CHARITABLE GAMBLING - WHITE BEAR BOXING INC. <br />Atkinson made motion, Peltier seconded, that the City of Hugo has no <br />objection to the issuance of a Gambling License to White near Boxing, <br />Inc., to operate pulltabs at the Blacksmith Lounge, and waives the .30 day <br />waiting period. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />SENATOR GARY LAIDIG/REPRESENTATIVE DOUG SWENSON <br />Senator Laidig and Representative Swenson have requested an opportunity to <br />address the City Council immediately following the town meeting which is <br />being held in the Council chambers from 5:45 PM until 6:45 PM, Tuesday <br />evening. Mayor Atkinson took: this opportunity to thank Senator Laidig and <br />Representative Swenson for all their efforts on behalf of the city of <br />Hugo. <br />Atkinson made motion, Peltier seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1988-10, <br />RESOLUTION REOUESTING LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT FOR THE INTERESTS OF SMALL <br />CITIES AND THE CITY OF HUGO. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />REZONING REQUEST (DAVE POTTER) <br />Dave and Joyce Potter have made application to the City of Hugo for the <br />rezoning of a part of an 11 acre tract of land from Conservancy to SFE. <br />The property is generally located northeast of 19th Street and Elmcrest <br />Avenue at the north end of Bald Eagle Labe (aka that part of the northerly <br />288' as measured along the east line) of Government Lot 1, Section '1, <br />T31N, R21W, Washington County, Minnesota, lying easterly of the centerline <br />of Elmcrest Avenue North.
