� ���� <br />- �^�"� <br />MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF 10/19/87 <br />The regular meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor, Deane Vail, at <br />7:02 PM. <br />PRESENT: Peltier, Potts, Olson, Vail <br />City Administrator, Ken Huber <br />City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager <br />ABSENT: George Atkinson <br />Potts made motion, Peltier seconded, to approve the General Claims for <br />October 19, 1987, in the amount of $48,929.97. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Peltier made motion, Potts seconded, to approve the Utility Claims for <br />October 19, 1987, in the amount of $484'10. <br />All aye. Motion Carried' <br />7.1 APPOINTMENT TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />At an earlier meeting of the City Council, Mayor Atkinson requested that <br />the Council consider possible nominations to replace Harry Rudisill on the <br />Planning Commission. The Council did not have any names to be considered <br />so this matter will be addressed at a future meeting' <br />8.1. RESOLUTION APPROVING BOND FOR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF <br />Minnesota statute requires that the city clerk/treasurer and assessor be <br />bonded. It is also advisable that other personnel handling money for the <br />city be covered by a bond. We requested that the city's insurance agent <br />proceed and secure the necessary bonds for the city clerk/treasurer and <br />city assessor, and that the bond amount be set at no less than $20,000. <br />We are also recommending that other city personnel signing checks or <br />handling money be covered under a blanket bond for all city employees in <br />an amount no less than $10,000. <br />Olson made motion, Potts seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1987-51, A <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING BONDS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />8.2 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MECHANICAL PERMIT FEES <br />Over a period of the last six weeks, the city inspectors and clerical <br />staff have been reviewing our very confusing mechanical permit application <br />forms and permit fees. The permit application has been revised <br />simplifying the form making it easier for both the clerical staff and the <br />applicant's to interpret' We are recommending that the mechanical permit <br />fees be amended to be comparable with the surrounding communities. <br />Potts made motion, Olson seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1987-52, A RESOLU- <br />TION ESTABLISHING MECHANICAL PERMIT FEES. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
