� �� - �^�"� MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF 10/19/87 The regular meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor, Deane Vail, at 7:02 PM. PRESENT: Peltier, Potts, Olson, Vail City Administrator, Ken Huber City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager ABSENT: George Atkinson Potts made motion, Peltier seconded, to approve the General Claims for October 19, 1987, in the amount of $48,929.97. All aye. Motion Carried. Peltier made motion, Potts seconded, to approve the Utility Claims for October 19, 1987, in the amount of $484'10. All aye. Motion Carried' 7.1 APPOINTMENT TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION At an earlier meeting of the City Council, Mayor Atkinson requested that the Council consider possible nominations to replace Harry Rudisill on the Planning Commission. The Council did not have any names to be considered so this matter will be addressed at a future meeting' 8.1. RESOLUTION APPROVING BOND FOR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF Minnesota statute requires that the city clerk/treasurer and assessor be bonded. It is also advisable that other personnel handling money for the city be covered by a bond. We requested that the city's insurance agent proceed and secure the necessary bonds for the city clerk/treasurer and city assessor, and that the bond amount be set at no less than $20,000. We are also recommending that other city personnel signing checks or handling money be covered under a blanket bond for all city employees in an amount no less than $10,000. Olson made motion, Potts seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1987-51, A RESOLUTION APPROVING BONDS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF. All aye. Motion Carried. 8.2 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MECHANICAL PERMIT FEES Over a period of the last six weeks, the city inspectors and clerical staff have been reviewing our very confusing mechanical permit application forms and permit fees. The permit application has been revised simplifying the form making it easier for both the clerical staff and the applicant's to interpret' We are recommending that the mechanical permit fees be amended to be comparable with the surrounding communities. Potts made motion, Olson seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1987-52, A RESOLU- TION ESTABLISHING MECHANICAL PERMIT FEES. All aye. Motion Carried.
