January 6, 1986 Charitable Gambling - cont. MO'T'ION: Potts made motion, Schwab seconded, to approve the applications for chari- gable Gambling dated 12/18/85, for pull -tabs at Ricci's and Blacksmith. Potts and Schwab withdrew their motion. MO`T'ION: Hauer made motion, Peltier seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1986-1, A RESO- LUTION STATING THAT THE CITY OF HUGO WOULD PREFER TO HAVE LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS BENEFIT FROM ANY PULL -TAB OPERATIONS WITHIN THE CITY AND THAT THE APPLI- CATIONS NOT BE APPROVED THAT REASON. VOTING FOR: Hauer, Peltier, McAllister VO'T'ING AGAINST: Potts, Schwab Motion Carried. 7.0 ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS No discussion. 8.0 UNFINISHED BUSINESS The city received a response to its Resolutions addressing the safety hazard at County Road 4 and Highway 61. A review has begun by the DOT, and they will contact the City when the review is completed. 9.0 NEW BUSINESS The City received a letter from a resident about a possible zoning viiation and a safety hazard (parked vehicles) at 4874 120th Street. MOTION: McAllister made motion, Hauer seconded, that Charles Shalander be directed to have NO PARKING signs installed on the north side of 120th Street (west of Highway 61) to Everton Avenue, thence north to 122nd Street on the east side of road. All aye. Motion Carried. MOTION: McAllister made motion, Peltier seconded, that the complaint regarding the possible zoning violation be forwarded to Charles Johnson for review. Mr. Johnson to disregard the parking matter and deal only with the alleged zoning violation. The Sheriff's department is to review this complaint and report to the Council as to whether it is accurate as to number of vehicles. All aye. Motion Carried. The select for a city manager/coordinator will meet 1/29/86 and, hopefully, will be able to make a recommendation at the Council meeting of 2/3/86.
