88 August 4, 1986 <br />MOTION: Hauer made motion, Peltier seconded, to authorize the Fire Chief to pur- <br />chase 28 pair of bunker pants, with suspenders, in the amount of $3220.00. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MOTION: Schwab made motion, Peltier seconded, to authorize the Fire Chief to <br />expend $2160.00 for handouts and films for Fire Prevention Week. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />The City received a letter from Bill Beaman stating his resignation from the Hugo <br />Fire Department and as Assistant Fire Chief, effective 8/25/86. He plans on retain- <br />ing his membership in the Relief Association. <br />MOTION: McAllister made motion, Peltier seconded, that the City Clerk post a <br />notice that the position of 2nd Assistant Fire Chief in the Hugo Fire <br />Department will be open, and the City will accept applications from <br />any interested members. Applications will close August 30, 1986. <br />Councilman Hauer and Fire Chief Istavanovich will make their recommenda- <br />tion to the City Council by October 20, 1986. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />AMBULANCE SERVICE <br />MOTION: McAllister made motion, Peltier seconded, to schedule a public hearing <br />for September 2, 1986, at 6:00 PM, to receive the Fire Chief's report <br />regarding the EMS 911 boundary for ambulance service. The City Council <br />will make a decision as to whether Hugo will stay with the White Bear <br />Ambulance Service or an alternate ambulance service. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />5.4 SHORELAND MANAGEMENT - Public Hearing at 7:30 PM <br />The public hearing to consider this matter was called to order at 7:30 PM. Gerald <br />Hansen, 14420 Irish Avenue, questioned whether the ordinance would pertain to <br />Rice and Oneka Lake, and he was informed that it would. The City Attorney sub- <br />mitted his recommendations for change this evening not permitting adequate time <br />for review. The City Cleric is retype the proposed ordinance, incorporating the <br />recommended changes. <br />MOTION: McAllister made motion, Peltier seconded, to recess the SHORELAND <br />MANAGEMENT public hearing until September 15, 1986, at 6:00 PM, for <br />further consideration of the proposed ordinance. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />5.2 Dave Truax - Brown's Creek WMO <br />Mr. Truax, Hugo's representative, was present to discuss the present status of <br />the organization. Their "509" plan is nearing completion, and Hugo's share of <br />the cost is approximately $622.00. Mr. Truax stated that it would cost Hugo <br />
