33 <br />MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL <br />April 15, 1985 <br />The regular meeting of the Hugo City Council was called to order at 7:00 PM. <br />PRESENT: Peltier, Potts, Schwab, Hauer, McAllister <br />Attorney - Charles Johnson <br />3.0 APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />MOTION: Peltier made motion, Hauer seconded, to approve the minutes of April 1, <br />1985, as submitted. <br />All aye. Notion Carried. <br />MOTION: Peltier made motion, Schwab seconded, to approve the minutes of the Special <br />Meeting of April 11, 1985, as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MOTION: Peltier made motion, Hauer seconded, to approve the minutes of the <br />Special Meeting of March 6, 1985, as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />4.0 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />MOTION: Peltier made motion, Schwab seconded, to approve the General Claims for <br />April 15, 1985, as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MOTION: Hauer made motion, Peltier seconded, to approve the Utility Claims for <br />April 15, 1985, as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />5.0 PETITIONS, REQUESTS, CONKJNICATIONS & LICENSES <br />5.1 Fire Department Operations Review Committee <br />Ken Granger, chairman, and committee members, Jim Olson and Leonard Charpentier <br />were present to recommend a new member to the Fire Department, Thomas Clymer, sub- <br />ject to a satisfactory doctor's examination and one year probation. <br />MOTION: Potts made motion, Hauer seconded, to appoint Thomas Clymer to the Hugo <br />Fire and Rescue Department, as recommended by the Review Committee. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />The committee then reviewed the applications received to fill the positions of <br />Fire Chief, 1st Assistant Chief and 2nd Assistant Chief, and their credentials. <br />The committee questioned the need for RESOLUTION 1985-1, and felt that the way <br />the department has been run for the past 60 years was satisfactory. Mayor <br />McAllister answered their questions and assured them that the new system would <br />be better for the City as well as the Fire Department. <br />
