34 <br />April 15, 1985 <br />FD Review Committee - cont. <br />The following men applied for the Fire Chief's position: Ron Istvanovich, <br />Glen Reimer, and James Wisner. The following applied for assistant chief: <br />William Beaman, James Compton, and Joseph McMahon. It was the concensus of <br />the committee that although Ron Istvanovich was the most qualified, they would <br />recommend James Wisner be named Fire Chief, Ron Istvanovich, 1st Assistant <br />Chief, and Bill Beaman 2nd Assistant Chief. <br />MOTION: McAllister made motion, Potts seconded, that Ron Istvanovich be ap- <br />pointed Hugo Fire Chief for the balance of the year 1985. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MOTION: Peltier made motion, Hauer seconded, that James Wisner be appointed <br />1st Assistant Chief for the balance of the year 1985. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MOTION: Schwab made motion, Peltier seconded, that William Beaman be appointed <br />2nd Assistant Chief for the balance of the year 1985. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MOTION: McAllister made motion, Schwab seconded, that the Hugo City Council <br />will appoint members to the Hugo Fire Department. <br />VOTING FOR: Potts, Schwab, Hauer, McAllister <br />VOTING AGAINST: Peltier <br />Motion Carried. <br />The committee stated that they will attempt to amend the by-laws to extend the <br />boundaries beyond the one mile radius for membership on the department, and <br />consider other changes they will help keep the number of members at full ca- <br />pacity (30 members - 3 officers). <br />5.2 Ken Schotl - Discussion on Land Division <br />Ken and Barb Schotl were present to discuss a proposal to divide property to <br />create a 5 acre parcel for construction of their residence. They would have a <br />2,000 foot driveway that would service their house as well a future buyer of an <br />adjoining 5 acre parcel. The Council reviewed their plan and had no problem. <br />The Schotls met with attorney Johnson to determine what would be required for <br />two property owners using one driveway. They will need to return with appli- <br />cations of land division and a certificate of survey. <br />5.3 Byron Anderson - Discussion on Land Division <br />Mr. Anderson would like to sell 20 acres, but did not want to have it surveyed. <br />He was informed that to get land division, a certificate of survey would be <br />required. <br />5.4 Walter Scheerer - Disc on Earth Shelter Home <br />Mr. Scheerer was present to discuss the drainage plan for construction of an <br />earth home located on Egg Lake Road just west of Goodview. Engineer Kuusisto <br />will review the submitted drainage plan, and approve, prior to issuance of a <br />Building Permit. The house plans meet with the approval of Tom Crever. <br />
