WE MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL July 1, 1985 The meeting was called to order by Mayor McAllister at 7:00 PM. PRESENT: Hauer, Peltier, Potts, Schwab, McAllister Attorney, Charles Johnson 3.0 APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOTION: Peltier made motion, Hauer seconded, to approve the minutes of June 17, 1985 as submitted. All aye. Motion Carried. 4.0 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS MOTION: Peltier made motion, Potts seconded, to approve the General Claims for July 1, 1985, as submitted. All aye. Motion Carried. MOTION: Peltier made motion, Schwab seconded, to approve the Utility Claims for July 1, 1985 as submitted. All aye. Motion Carried. MOTION: McAllister made motion, Peltier seconded, to approve the $400.00 claim to First Trust Saint Paul (Project 8407), as well as naming them the paying agent for said project and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk sign the Agency Agreement. All aye. Motion Carried. FIRE DEPARTMENT Fire Chief, Ron Istvanovich, and Review Committee member, Ken Granger, were present to discuss department business. Ron submitted a brochure from the Nicholson Company regarding a repair contract for the pumpers. McAllister stated that he would like to see a work schedule and an anticipated annual cost so that the amount could be considered at budget time (August 19th). Ron further discussed the cadet program he is interested in establishing for Hugo. The boy scouts would insure for members aged 14 - 18 years old. White Bear, Lake Elmo, and Mahtcmedi now are using the program. The youths would "assist" the fire personnel at a fire site or at the hall. They would not be allowed in a dangerous situation, e.g. burning building. Mr. Granger stated that the committee has not looked into the program, but stated they would check into it. MOTION: McAllister made motion, Hauer seconded, that the Fire Chief be authorized to take Hugo's pumper and grass fire rig to the Forest Lake parade (July 4th). All aye. Motion Carried.
