86 September 16, 1985 <br />5.2 Shepherd of the Fields - Special Use Permit <br />The church is proposing the installation of church signs on the property of <br />B & H Auto Sales and railroad property north of town. They have the permission <br />of Howard Moe and have requested permission from Burlington Northern. The <br />Planning Commission recommended approval. <br />MOTION: Hauer made motion, Peltier seconded, to approve the Special Use Permit <br />for Shepherd of the Fields Church to install two advertising signs <br />subject to the following: <br />1. Chruch obtain permission from B & H Auto Sales and the Burlington <br />Northern railroad to install signs on their property. <br />2. Signs are not to exceed 20" x 30" and to be made of metal. <br />3. Signs are to be placed on private property and subject to removal <br />for required maintenance. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />5.3 Dave Truax - Disc on Brown's Creek Watershed <br />Mr. Truax, Hugo's representative, was present to suhmit Brown's Creek proposed <br />budget with Hugo's portion being 8.62% for every $10,000 spent. He expects a request <br />of an additional $100.00 for adminstrative purposes over and above the cost for <br />the 509 plan. The watershed district consists of 18,000 acres with 2280 of <br />them in Hugo. <br />At 7:36 PM, Mayor McAllister announced that the City will accept no more sealed <br />bids for the water tower project. <br />5.4 PROJECT 8527 - Opening of Bids (7:30 PM) <br />Engineer Kuusisto opened the following bids for Project 8527 - Elevated Storage <br />Tank Exterior Painting, at 8:37 PM: <br />Odland Protective Coating - $11,980.00 <br />Valley Contracting - $15,900.00 <br />Tenyer Coating - $18,000.00 <br />Allied Painting & Renovation - $19,800.00 <br />Maguire Iron, Inc. - $21,840.00 <br />Ford Tank & Painting Co., Inc. - $22,000.00 <br />As is the custom, Engineer Kuusisto took the bids under advisement and make <br />a reonuendation at the next Council meeting. <br />MOTION: McAllister made motion, Schwab seconded, to table the decision to award <br />the bid for Project 8527 until 10/7/85. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />5.5 Gil Regnier - Variance <br />Mr. Regnier, owner of 15 acres along Elmcrest Avenue, is proposing a variance <br />to the 300' lot width requirement for hardship purposes. Mr. Regnier, resent at <br />the meeting, provided photos of the land as well as an aerial. It was}9,�Knion <br />that the lot width of 210' for each parcel would not alter the existing charac- <br />teristics of the neighborhood. Councilmen Hauer and Schwab stated that they had <br />no problem with the variance request stating that they felt there was a legiti- <br />mate hardship and the variance would not alter the existing residential area. <br />
