16 February 22, 1983 <br /> 7.2 Seal Coating Project <br /> Engineer Kuusisto has been in contact with Mark Mattson, and the county is soli- <br /> citing for bids. The city's 47,200 square yards of paved streets has been in- <br /> cluded and he will notify us as to the cost per square yard. The budget allows <br /> for $33,000, but Kuusisto determined that the cost would be well under this amount. <br /> After this project is completed, Kuusisto urged first consideration be given to <br /> the surface extension of Ethan Avenue, south from 126th Street. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, Vail seconded, that the City Engineer be directed <br /> to submit a letter of commitment to the Washington County Engineer <br /> stating the city's intention to participate in seal coating program as <br /> indicated on the map submitted. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> 7.3 Determination of REC charge for Utility Billing <br /> After a discussion with Marvin LaValle, Mayor McAllister stated that the city has <br /> used a formula of 22 employees, dry business, for one REC unit. Metro Steel is <br /> to be contacted to determine their number of employees. <br /> 8.0 NEW BUSINESS <br /> 8.1 George Atkinson - Appointmentio Planning Commission <br /> It was the Mayor's feeling that the rural area is well represented, and that the <br /> vacancy should be filled by someone from the downtown area or south of the down- <br /> town area. Councilman Vail will research this matter as it is his ward. <br /> MOTION: McAllister made motion, Peltier seconded, that the City of Hugo accept <br /> the resignation of Bill Greger, and that the City Clerk write him a <br /> letter expressing the city's thanks for his many years of service. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> 9.0 ATTORNEY AND ENGINEER <br /> Mr. Johnson submitted his monthly report. Engineer Kuusisto was informed that the <br /> Council had already approved work to be done by Layne Minnesota. He is also to <br /> obtain a cost estimate for another well and pump (no tower) . <br /> 10.0 CLERK <br /> The city is not interested in submitting the RESOLUTION regarding the relocation <br /> of the metro regional office for the DNR. <br /> The city received a letter from Don Wical regarding his interest in the old <br /> village hall and the property. The clerk is to write a letter to the Forest Lake <br /> School District, along with a copy of Wical's letter, asking their position in <br /> this matter. <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, Vail seconded, to adjourn at 10:43 PM. <br /> 77 aye.
