It was his contention
that they could respond more quickly to an emergency than Hugo's present contract
holder, White Bear Ambulance Service. There are two years left on our contract.
Two ambulances are available with a cost of $190.00/ALS and $160.00/BLS, and an addi-
tional cost of $3.50/mile for both units. Fire Chief, Ron Istvanovich, was present,
and stated that Hugo has a good working relationship with the present contract holder,
and that he is well-satisfied with their service. Mayor McAllister recommended that
the city request Chief Vadnais to appear before the Council to discuss how his
service works. The city will in turn notify Mr. Mattson as to the Council's decision.
Chief Istvanovich will make the necessary arrangements with Chief Vadnais.
5.2 Bryan Palmer - Complaint
The city had received several complaints regarding the Palmer residence at 5398 145th
.. Street for unnecessary storing of brush, debris, and vehicles. Mr. Palmer was present
and was informed that he resides in a residential neighborhood and that the city wants
the area cleaned up. Mr. Palmer stated that he was in the process of cleaning up.
